В статье на основе научных трудов советских и российских хирургов, справочной и другой литературы анализируются методы диагностики эхинококкоза различных органов с начала ХХ века до наших дней. Впервые максимально полно с точки зрения истории проанализированы способы верификации этого паразитарного заболевания, представляющего значительную угрозу здоровью человека и в настоящее время. Указаны автор метода и его сущность, область практического применения, период внедрения и использования, его достоинства и недостатки. Предложена авторская периодизация развития методов диагностики эхинокок-коза.
